I feel like I’ve been old for as long as I can remember. I’ve always been known to be rather gruff, even in my youth. They coined me the youngest old man alive, and then I actually became old and well, it suited me even more. I’ve been on more than my fair share of adventures. I felled the dictator of the North with nothing but a dagger. He was by his bedside and I tumbled in through the window by the cover of nightfall and slit his throat. The kingdom was so grateful I’d freed them, they offered me a spot on their court. I grumbled and said no thank you. I slayed a dragon with my best friend Mineo in service of the queen. That was one of the hardest things I’d ever had to do. This red dragon was extremely protective of its hoard. It had mountains and mountains of gold. I’d concocted a powerful sleeping draft in preparation for the mission, I knew me and Mineo would not win this battle fairly. I tossed the flask into the dragon’s mouth and he was instantly sedated. Not asleep, just sedated. As the dragon lumbered in our direction, I threw my dagger into the fleshy part of its chest and the rest was history. The queen was so grateful for our service she offered us a place on her council. Mineo was interested but I held him backward and grumbled no thank you. I have no interest in power or status. I just want enough coin to get me and my friends by. I want to live a simple life of comfort. I figured I had one last mission in me.

We met Obi at a tavern one night and I knew instantly that he’d fit into our team. He was a light in the darkness. I was drawn to him when I noticed how scared people were of him, I knew the feeling. When he sang “Love Is Blind” a song my mother used to sing to me, I was enthralled and joined him. When I introduced him to Mineo, he seemed taken with him as well. We were on our way to a three man team and I had just the mission in mind for us. It was the village troll. I heard the rumours that it liked music so I knew Obi was just the man to join us for the job. The mission went smoothly and we had a new friend in Freddy, the troll. Next thing I knew, the king asked us to train his knights in combat to prepare for the war. He had heard of my dexterity with a dagger and asked if we could teach his knights much of the same. At first, I wasn’t sure if I still had another mission in me but Obi and Mineo told me they needed me. I thought about it for a while and when they asked “are you going to retire, Henry?” I grumbled and said no thank you.
